Hello! This post is all about micro dosing magic mushrooms, and I have also linked a recipe to my psilocybin peanut butter & jelly cups for you to enjoy!
First things first, I’m just going to say that I am not a doctor, a psychologist, a scientist, nor am I a trained mycologist. If you choose to consume magic mushrooms, there are many benefits you could experience, but you could also experience adverse effects. If that is the case, don’t get upset with me. If you have a scary trip or your microdose is too high and next thing you know, you’re having mild hallucinations at 10am (been there, done that. whoops!), that’s on you, homie.
Do your own research on the subject.
Read some books and educate yourself (How To Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan is a good one)
Look into Paul Stamets, who is a mycologist and an expert in his field.
Check out MAPS.org (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies). If you want to look further into psychedelic studies, visit their resource and/or research page, where you can look up many articles on the research that is currently happening in the psychedelic field. Review published studies on the benefits/side effects of doing mushrooms. Once you have done that, use your intuition and decide if it is right for you.
If you have history of bipolar disorder, personality disorder, schizophrenia or are currently taking SSRI’s or SNRI’s, you should refrain from the consumption of psilocybin.
It is really important to do you research on this subject because of the nature of the mushroom; a psychedelic. Some say it is its own complete entity, a teacher, a way connect to higher consciousness or divine power, etc. I am writing this to share my own opinion on this subject. If you read this blog post and think that consuming psilcybin or partaking in microdosing is for anyone and everyone, you’re a dumbass. One more thing that I feel is worth mentioning, is that I am not affiliated with this company, nor am I getting paid to write this. These are my personal views.
What are magic mushrooms? What is psilocybin?
Magic mushrooms (other casual names include “shrooms” or “zoomers”) are a wild or cultivated fungi that contains psilocybin. The most common magic mushroom is known scientifically as psilocybe cubensis, but it is known within the mushroom enthusiast community as “the golden teacher”. Psilocybin is the main psychedelic component in magic mushrooms, and works by altering several different neurotransmitters in the brain. It works by activating serotonergic receptors, causing several brain systems to significantly (and temporarily) change, and a wave of unique excretory activity to spread throughout the main perceptual centers of the mind*
What is microdosing?
Microdosing is the act of taking a small dose of psilocybin in order to achieve neurological benefits, but not taking a high enough dose to engage in any of the psychedelic affects*
Microdosing psychedelics has recently become popular for it’s ability to reduce anxiety and depression, increase creativity and for its ability to overall improve your outlook on life. Psilocybin has significant effects and if you have ever experienced a trip from taking a high dose of mushrooms, you know that this powerful psychedelic has the ability to make you feel an intense sense of love, feel more connected to nature, have an amplified sense of touch/feel and ego dissolution. Those are some of the positive effects you might feel from a dose of magic mushooms. And if you have done your research like I recommended, then you will also be aware of the negative effects you might feel after consuming psilocybin.
I recently collaborated with a company called Microdose Mushrooms, and the reason I chose to collaborate with them is because of the supplement Neuro Blend.
This blend consists of:
40mg niacinamide
80mg organic psilocybe cyanescens (this is another strain of mushroom containing psylocybin, similar to psilocybe cubensis)
200mg organic lions mane mushroom
150mg organic chaga mushroom
150mg organic reishi mushroom
Paul Stamets (who I personally think is one of the coolest human beings on this planet) is one of the most reputable mycologists in the world. His “nootropic stack” is a small dose of psilocybin combined with niacin and lions mane. One of the things I like about the Neuro blend, is that there is an additional stack of chaga and reishi mushrooms.
The benefits of the ingredients in the Neuro Blend:
Niacinamide: A derivative of niacin, nacinamide helps improve blood circulation and improves deliverability of the psilocybin.
Psilocybe cyanescens: The potential benefits of microdosing psilosybin include a heightened state of alertness, decreased anxiety and depression* * , boost creativity and motivation, decrease stress and enhance focus.
Lions mane mushroom: Lions mane mushroom has a complimentary relationship with psilocybin and optimizes returns. It has the ability create new neurons and neural pathways, and also repair existing neurological damage*. Preliminary studies also show lions mane beneficial for those who struggle with depression.
Chaga mushroom: In addition to chaga being a great source of antioxidants and a good way to boost your immune system, chaga may increase the availability of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is involved in memory and brain function.
Reishi mushroom: Known as the queen of mushrooms, reishi is an adaptogen that aids the body in reducing stress. It promotes a sense of calm and focus.
One more thing to be noted about microdosing, is that it shouldn’t be done everyday. Due to prohibition, research is still preliminary and we are not fully aware of consistent daily dosages. This substance should be used for enhancement of life, not dependence.
Common practice of microdosing is to cycle in the following ways:
3 days on, 1 day off
5 days on, 2 days off
or every other day
If you choose to microdose with whole mushrooms instead of buying capsules, I have created an easy recipe for you to happily and easily consume psilocybin. Personally, my favourite way to consume a large dose of mushrooms is to cut them up very small and generously sprinkle on top of a graham cracker with peanut butter on top. My decade old highschool ways of consuming is what inspired me to create a micro dose recipe that also includes peanut butter, therefore, I present to you the recipe for my PPB&J Cups a.k.a Psilocybin Peanut Butter & Jelly Cups!
What are your opinions on microdosing? Let me know in the comment section if you have tried it or what your thoughts are.
Be safe everyone and enjoy the possibility of transcendance in the modern world!
