Bending yoga tradition to fit your modern life
This book is an open hearted and refreshing read if you are in love with the practice and life of yoga. If you’ve ever studied the limbs of yoga or wondered wtf the chakras or koshas are, this book will explain it all to you in modern terminology. If i’m being honest, as I write this I just realized that I should add this to my list of books to re-read, as I completed my yoga teacher training years after reading this book and it would be a great refresher!
It is basically impossible to distill thousands of years of yoga philosophy into a book of nearly 250 pages, however the author does an incredible job of doing so and does so in a way that is comprehendible. It is meant to be written for the modern yogi, however if you have ever been curious about ancient yogic philosophy and wasn’t sure where to start this would be a great place to start. Chakras, along with the eight limbs of yoga and the yamas and niyamas may be hard to remember but this book touches base on all of them.
A good read both for new and well practiced yogis!
