This homemade BBQ sauce is easy to make, full of flavour and unlike store bought/mass produced sauces, free of refined sugar.
You can use this sauce year round to marinate and roast meats or tofu, as a glaze on roasted cauliflower, a dip for chicken wings, a sauce to amp up your burgers or even as a pizza sauce.. the list goes on and on really.

- You can make this recipe gluten free and vegan by purchasing a worchestershire sauce that is gluten free and vegan.
- To make vegan, use maple syrup instead of honey.
Homemade BBQ sauce
A refined sugar free version of this flavourful, sweet and tangy sauce that is great year round.

Ingredients
- 1 can tomato sauce (437ml)
- 1/4 C tomato paste
- 1/2 C apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 C honey
- 1/4 C molasses
- 3 tbsp worchestershire
- 2 tsp liquid smoke
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp harissa pepper or cayenne powder
Directions
- Step 1
- Whisk all ingredients together in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning.
- Step 2
- Store in airtight container for 7-10 days.
