Life is hard. Some mornings, days, and sometimes weeks (or months) can be more challenging than others. I have personally experienced many times when getting out of bed requires more energy than I feel it “should”.
My bed is my warm, comfy and “safe” zone, which makes it hard to leave on those challenging days. Some days I find myself getting out of bed just to go lay on the couch and cuddle up under a fuzzy blanket, then end up making my way back into my bed an hour later. This can happen a handful of times throughout the day and next thing you know, the day has passed and I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything.
Journaling is one of my favourite tools to work through emotions, and on the days where I find myself struggling to leave my bed in the morning (or afternoon), reach for your journal and give these prompts a try. Pay attention to how to feel before writing in your journal, and reflect on how you feel after writing. Even if you get out of bed only to make yourself a meal, that’s okay. You did it!
