An old man, a young man, and life’s greatest lesson.
I love reading books that make me cry. To evoke such a strong emotion just from reading words on a page, is a book well written. Truthfully, I didn’t exactly know what I was getting myself into when I started reading this book. I mean, I kind of knew what it was going to be about, but not fully. Morrie, the “old man” and teachings this book is based on really reminded me of my mom. So because of that, I immediately found a connection when I first started reading this book and that connection lasted once I was finished. This book actually sat on my bookshelf for years before I decided to read it! I found it brand new on the top of a paper recycling bin a few years ago (which is why there is a sticker that has been ripped off on the front cover), and I am confident that the timing of when I read it was intuitive.
It’s an elegantly written true story about new perspectives, new chances at life and the beauty of life itself. It is rich in human thought, wisdom, sensitivity and compassion. All of which are truly the most important things in life. It is not a self-help book by any means, but if you are wanting quick and simple read that it is really precious and heart warming, I would consider it an essential!
